THE WAY OF PEACE

Living in peace with the self and others

As the consciousness of human beings slowly begins to awaken in these times of change, and the old cycle of very confrontational ways of dealing with problems is beginning to be replaced with new approaches based on more holistic solutions, the peace teachings of shamanism have become as relevant as ever.

The shaman's function as a healer and messenger between the worlds also includes being the peacekeeper, and maintaining peace amongst the people.

There are stories, legends and teachings amongst native people, deeply rooted in ancient understanding and wisdom, on how to live in peace with oneself and others. The time has come when we can let them show us the way. Some of the native cultures contain profound insights about the minds and the hearts of the human species, and there are shamanic cultures that have lived in peace for hundreds of years, if not longer. Many people have begun to realize that the ways of western societies need renewal. The wisdom keepers of native cultures are now pathfinders for us today, if we listen. They speak in soft voices of their ways involving balance, respect and peace.

This workshop offers teachings on the way of peace based on these time-tested methods.

Peace begins with oneself, and from that foundation we can begin to make peace with others. Then it can move further. Living in peace is a high art, and the workshop includes an initiation ceremony into an understanding and an embodying of the teachings. It offers ways to heal and transform old wounds and step into a place where that state of mind which is peace, can begin to take hold. Then it will begin to touch others
